Want a good recipe to be an A+ student? Go to the gym, go to school, go to work, go to the library, worry about classes every second, & go to bed. Repeat daily. Its an awesome life really. I promise. If you're okay with being a complete loser. Trust me I live this life. Its day 3 of school & I already am praying for it to be December. & that is horrible. Who wishes for that? Apparently this girl. The end of the semester can't come soon enough. My classes are already sooo overwhelming. Blahhh.
Kay enough of my whining.
I was going to show you my "official" race pictures from this past weekend.... but then I thought I'd spare you the painful, sweaty details of it all.
So because I don't talk about weddings enough, I decided to give you just another taste. You can thank me later... or now. Last week I said I was going to show you my best friends wedding.... & I forgot. So here it is now. Old news. I'm sorry.
I was obsessed with Missy's wedding. I literally felt like I stepped out of the movie "My Best Friend's Wedding!" It was so glamorous & classy. From the amazing estate it was held at to the enormous spread of gourmet food served, it was nothing short of perfect. Definitely every little girl's dream wedding.
I was so honored to be a bridesmaid in her wedding & to be apart of their special day. Brady was completely smitten with Miss, & who wouldn't be? She looked stunning. I can only dream my wedding will be as half as good as this!

i did it!
This morning me & willie's sister, Marci ran the Top of Utah Half Marathon! We were kinda nervous going into it because it was a first for both of us, but it turned out to be so fun! There were a MILLION people running it, with all different fitness levels & the atmosphere was so positive from everyone. We began in the Logan canyon, which was about 6 miles long. It was so pretty up there & it was an easy run down. After the canyon it was a lot of flat running, which was fairly easy too. Once I hit mile 11 though... I was tired! I really didn't think my legs would go any further, but I just pushed through it & made it to the finish line in just under 2 hours! It was such a good experience & an awesome accomplishment! For now I'm just going to run for fun, but I definitely want to do another one in the near future!

internship
Warning: this may be a boring post so feel free to skip if you'd like.
For school I have to do 325 hours of an internship before I graduate. Since I'm graduating in April, it was crucial that I find one soon. I looked ALL summer & went to what felt like a million interviews. It has been an emotional roller coaster finding one that works for me & with my schedule. I'm taking 20 credits this fall & also need to still work (gotta pay them bills). So that meant I needed to find a paid internship, which is next to impossible. After lots of chats with my parents, stress, & tears, I finally found one! I'm now the newest employee/internship-ee? at the Wee Child Care Center on campus at UVU. I work as a "caregiver" to little kids whose parents are either going to school or are faculty members. Basically a day care on campus. We teach the kids a set curriculum that incorporates health, nutrition, reading, writing, & art. I'm in the Preschool room & I can't wait! They are all so adorable.
The downfall to accepting this job/internship is that I have to quit my job at Allstate :( I really have loved it & the all the people I work with. Not to mention that has been my blogging time. Dang it! I'm going to have zero time this semester to blog! I am already worried about trying juggle 20 credits + an internship + time to study + a social life. So blogging is definitely last on the list. Priorities people.
Today is my last day here at Allstate & I'm really sad about it. Maybe because I'm scared of all the new changes coming up in my life. Just walking into work today made me feel so much better. I HATE being out of my comfort zone, but I need to remind myself to embrace this change & look at it in a positive light.

back to happy valley I go
Yep its that dreaded time of the year again. School. ughhh. I'm so not excited to start again. Be prepared for some more stressed out & complaining posts. I'm sorry, but its just going to happen. But good news.... its my SENIOR YEAR!!!! Can you believe it? I can't. I don't feel old enough to graduate from college. Its actually kinda scary to think about. Come April.... I'll be a 'real' grown up, in the real world. Yikess.
Till then, I plan to enjoy this last year & savor every moment. I've started moving into my new house & I'm excited. I have all new roommates & I can't wait to get to know them better. Its going to be a good year.
For now, I'm going to live up my last week of summer the best I can!

decorative pillow
I had to get new bedding for my new room in my new house in Orem. All of my old bedding was black and white with an accent of red. While I loved this look, I was a bit over it. I tried to steer clear of it while shopping for new bedding, but couldn't help it when I found a worn-out red & white striped duvet. I wanted to do maybe an accent of yellow or creams, but remembered I had a ton of pictures/wall decor/lighting that was all black or gray. And I wasn't about to go buy all new stuff for a temporary room. So now here I am with the same color scheme. Blahh. I'm determined to make it different though!
I want it to be mostly white. White walls, white furniture, white picture frames,& a lot of white decorations. A real clean feeling, ya know? I want my accent color to be a light gray. I'm trying to weed out my black. I've been on the hunt for a couple cute decorative pillows to go on my bed & I need your help. (Remember my bedding is red & white striped). So which one would you pick?

good day
Today's run was fairly easy. I did take some advice to slow it down a bit, which helped a ton! I was able to run the amount I wanted without feeling exhausted by the end. Plus I feel amazing right now! Its a good day.
sami's hot air balloon wedding
Last friday was Sami & Blake's wedding at the GORGEOUS Watasch Farms. I lived with Sami my freshman year & then again this past school year. She is so adorable & Blake is such a lucky guy to get a babe like Sam! She told me a while back that she wanted a hot air ballon at their wedding, but I honestly didn't think she would! & yep I was wrong! It was unbelieveable & such a fun idea for the guests!

missy's bachelorette party
Me & my friend, Alex threw Missy a little bachelorette party last Thursday. Missy, Al, & I were best friends growing up & continue to stay very close. We had the party at Alex's & everything turn out so adorable. Alex did the decorations & they were to die for! The whole night was full of games, treats, advice for Miss, & some interesting stories... ha. But by far the best part was catching up with my two best friends who I love so much! I was so happy to throw Missy this one last party before she became a married woman!

Wedding weekend
This weekend is all about weddings for me (& probably everyone else in Utah). I threw my best friend, Missy a bachelorette party on Thursday, my friend/roommate Sami got married last night, & today is Missy's wedding!
I cannot wait to be apart of Missy's wedding today. We have been best friends since we were really little. Even though we went to different elementarys, junior highs, & high schools, we stayed so close & were finally reunited down at UVU. I cannot believe she is getting married! We've talked about this day for yearss! I'm so excited for her & Brady & this big journey they are taking together!
Let the wedding madness continue...

left brain
I like to pretend I'm creative. Cause I'm not. I've been seeing all of these amazing DIY projects on Pinterest & decided I wanted to try one out. I started small. Real small. Like I probably could have made this in 5th grade. But here it is & I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.
(Please ignore my cancerous looking arm/hand)
Its wayyyy easy. All you need is: 3 strands of twine - 1 yard each & 18 brass hex nuts & maybe some braiding skills. That's it. It goes with anything & is super cute when you pair it with some more bracelets or even a gold watch.
I've got some more projects up my sleeve. Hopefully they won't be as boring as this & a bit more challenging. Get ready.
Ohhh & I accomplished some of my running goals this morning.
Ran at a 8:30 pace & completed 7 miles & woke up at 7am to do it. Booyah!
Baby steps people.
TGIF.

even short runs.....
hurt like hell in this heat.
(sorry, but its truely the only way to describe it)
I planned to run at least another mile but I honestly couldn't go any further.
I'm a wuss.
& an idiot for running at 12:00pm.
I just can't get my booty out of bed at 6:00am (the only time its remotely cool)
So this is what I got.
Not too bad.
But I have some goals for myself:
1. Next run needs to be at minimum 6 miles
2. Wake up early enough to actually complete a long run
3. Pick up the pace- I'd like a better time & speed.
4. Find another enjoyable route- getting a bit sick of my square.
Anyone wanna run with me?
weekend at strawberry via my iphone
I went to Strawberry Lake this past weekend with Willie's family & stayed in a cute little cabin. The weather was perfect & we had a blast enjoying the beautiful mountains & each others company. Here are my pics- (I promise one day I'll use a real camera again.)

2. Don Pedro's family mexican restaurant
3. Handsome boy :)
4. First morning at the cabin
5 & 6. Campfire time
7, 8, & 9. Struggling with the jumbo mallows
10. Takin a break from our horse shoe competition. Grand prize= $50!
11. Handsome boy cookin breakfast on the deck
12. Breakfast on the deck attracted some uninvited guests.
