insomnia.

Lately I have had the worst time trying to fall asleep & staying asleep at night. It honestly is the most frustrating thing ever! I just lay there, listening to every little creak the house makes. Shoooot meeee. I don't know when I became such a light sleeper, but if I don't I have the room completely dark, zero noise, & the door shut all the way, I'm doomed. When I was younger I could fall asleep anywhere & any time of the day. Now I can't even take a nap longer then 45 minutes. I know that seems substantial, but this is coming from a girl who could sleep for hourssss! For example.... this past weekend in Cali my mom & grandma let me have my own bed, gave me ear plugs (they snored just a bit ;) ha), & I took two Advil PMs every night- guranteed perfect sleep. Ughhh no! I tossed & turned all night- every night!

I'm so sick of feeling sluggish & haggered all day long. So after another horrible sleep last night, I had had it! I did a little reseach today, thanks to google & this is what I found:
  1. Keep a regular sleep schedule. - first problem. I'm all over the place.
  2. Make your room more sleep friendly. - eeek. my room is a disaster right now.
  3. Keep a relaxing bedtime routine. - ughh maybe watching modern family & facebooking right before I sleep isn't a good idea.
  4. Eat right & exercise regularly. - Kay this one I do. But I have heard exercising right before you go to bed can keep you up at night. After work is my only time tho people!
  5. Get anxiety & stress in check. - Yes I admit I'm a stress case at times, but overall I'm fine. I just need to learn to turn my brain off at night.
  6. Get out of your head. - this one refers to waking up in the middle of the night. Don't stress that you're awake, just relax!
  7. Make relaxation your goal, not sleep. - ughh I try.
I'm going to give these a try. Wish me luck.
Any tips on how you fall asleep??

back to reality

Wow getting up this morning was incredibly hard.
After a 10 hour drive home last night
the last thing I wanted to do this morning was go to school.
So I slept right through my first class. -ooops!
I definitely need a vacation from my vacation ;)

It was such a fun trip, but too short for sure!
The drive on wednesday wasn't bad at all.
It was about 8 hours to Reno & we stayed the night there.
Then it was off to San Fran the next morning.
We ran into the WORST snow storm (blizzard) over Donner's pass
which made our drive a little longer than expected.
But we finally made it to a rainy San Fransisco!
(driving over the Bay Bridge)

Once we got settled in, I was determined to get some sourdough bread & soup!

(sourdough grilled cheese & tomato soup. Definitely hit the spot!)

We walked around Fisherman's Warf for a bit but the rain would not give up,
so we decided to go back to the hotel to catch the BYU game!
(sorry cougs... it was a good fight)

Then we headed to the Ghirardelli chocolate factory for some hot chocolate.
I'm not a huge fan of hot chocolate... always gives me a stomach ache,
so I just had a sip of my mom's.
It was very rich, but sooo yummy.

The next day we had anticipated rain all day,
but someone must have known it was my first time in San Fran & blessed us perfect weather!
We spent the entire day SHOPPING!
If you've ever been there you know their shopping is amazing!
I was in heaven!

(shopping for some new Nikes. Unsuccessful. I'm super picky when it comes to my running shoes.)

(Had to hit up Chinatown ha.)

After a long day of shopping we wanted to go to Lombard street,
but the line for the cable car was crazyyy long.
So we decided to make the trek & walk.
BUT we didn't even make it half way up the first hill
before we got drawn into the bike shop...

Yes we biked four miles to the Golden Gate Bridge,
half way across the bridge (then it started raining)
& another four miles back to the bike shop.
HOLY COW.
It was not easy.
I haven't ridden a legit bike in forever!
Oooh it burned.
It was so cool though & we laughed the whole time!
(we did it on a whim... hence the wrong kind of outfit for biking.)

The trip then continued on to Sacramento to watch Willie play
(I didn't take any pictures there. totally spaced it!)
& then headed home on Sunday!
Too short, but I'm looking forward to going back!
It's such a fun city!

(Sorry for the awful pictures. They are from my mom's phone. I haven't had anytime to upload my pictures yet!)

just been one of those days...

Have you ever felt so stressed out that you come up with even more things to worry about??
Thats me today.
I am the BIGGEST worry wart you'll ever meet.
I over-analyze everything.
I am on complete overload with school work before I leave for California tomorrow
& yet I find myself coming up with other things to trigger more stress.
For instance... being late.
Since I was little I would get major anxiety about being late.
Whether it was to school, dance class, cheer, or an appointment.. you name it, I'd stress.
I was late to class today & because I was already stressed out, I panicked.
On top of that I am a major perfectionist.
If it's not done perfect or I don't get a perfect grade or I don't look perfect,
I get really down on myself.
Its exhausting really.
I feel like I expect so much from myself & other people expect so much from me.

I know what you are thinking....
"She's a mess!"
ha & today I am.

I always told myself I would never post anything too personal on my blog
because I don't want the whole world to know.
Always trying to create a image that my life is perfect & that I don't have any flaws.
HA! Well let me tell you... that's false!

Has anyone ever felt like this???
or am I totally crazy??

I am constantly making lists of my day.
What I have to do, where I have to go, & how long I have until my day is over.
A kind 'stress management' if you will.
But they still don't seem to eliminate my stress.
Just not enough hours in the day.

This trip is coming at the perfect time.
I just need to RELAX!

Anyone have any advice on how you stop stressin??

three strikes, you're out!

This weekend has been a busy one.
Full of baseball games, homework, & birthdays.
Not a moment to rest.

UVU played SUU this weekend
& beat us both Thursday & Friday--eeek.
Yesterday we were down 11 to 1 in the bottom of the 5th inning.
BUT we came back to win it 13 to 11 in the extra inning!
Ugh such an intense game!!
We were on the edge of our seats for like the last hour.
who knew baseball could be so nerve racking?!
But I'm so proud of Willie, he did an amazing job all weekend!

Yesterday was also my dad's 50th birthday!!!
He is one of my best friends & I love him soo much!
Happy Birthday dad!
You're getting pretty old ;)

 Love you Dad!

St. Patty's & spring must haves

Me & Will were at breakfast this morning (einstein bagels. nothing better.)
there was a huge chalkboard calendar on the wall.
Will goes... "hmm tomorrow's St. Patrick's Day."
I reply.. "oh yeah! Good thing you're uniform is green. I love St. Patty's day!"
Joked a bit about celebrating with a beer
We even talked about how the red headed cashier looked like leprecon.
We continued eating.

Ummm hiii retards!

Today is St. Patrick's Day!!
How could I forget??
I love this holiday.
When I was little the 'leprecons' would turn our milk green & mess up our couch cushions.
Green cereal in the morning was almost as good as Christmas in my house.
Not to mention Ireland is my favorite place in deee world!
So, sorry to my Irish ancestors.... promise to never forget again.

Well on a complete opposite note....
I love that spring is here almost here.
That means spring fashion, which I absolutely can't get enough of.
Shorts, skirts, light jackets, sandals, wedges, pastels & neutrals, stripes, & cardis.
yesss please.
Since I've been under the weather this past week
I've done a lot of online shopping :)
well... browsing.
Here are a couple spring trends I'm dying to get my hands on.

Well I'm off to Will's first home game!
All of these pieces can be found here, here, & here.
Happy St. Patrick's Day!
